Conversations with
Coffee
Bitter ebony river, a drowning pool
of mud,
melancholy swimming in a cup.
Aroma of angst spiralling- narcotics alluring the brain.
A blighted charcoal raven eye looks into yours-
attentive, bleak, insipid.
‘Talk and I will listen’ he murmurs through the
caffeine infused veins.
Addictive charm lingers in his cynical touch,
I close my mind.
In submission I follow.
Into a sleepy underworld, lit up in
jade bright dusky blues.
Hades lights the moon with fire.
A cavern of the lost,
a cave of lonely souls
– I bend to you.
Forgive me for I have sinned.
