Promised Land (Around a speech by Martin Luther King; for Yasser Arafat)
I have seen the promised land In the shrunken face of a refugee Camp. A land of milk and honey Parched in the misery of Jenin.
We have seen the promised land We have wept for it, and fought for it We have bled for it, and killed for it A fertile land with bitter fruits.
We have walked the promised land And have lived in it lives denied We have been fenced into it And have been fenced out of it.
I have looked over to the promised land A land flowing with milk and honey And we as a people will get there But I will not get there with you.
