return to this page, and follow the entry guidelines below. Competition Details Subject: Short Stories may be on any subject or style
and MUST NOT have been previously published, posted to a
website or blog. Stories posted to members-only writing
groups for workshop purposes as part of the creative process
are not deemed to have been previously published. Length: Maximum 1,500 words per story. Entry Fees: £4.25 per story, £7.65 for 2 stories or
£10.20 for 3 stories. First Prize: £150.00 Second Prize: £60.00 Third Prize: £40.00 First Publication: The top three short stories will receive

Author’s name and address or any other identifying mark MUST
NOTappear on any of your story pages. PRINT your Name, Postal Address, E-mail Address, Subscriber ID and if you wish, Telephone number on a
plain sheet of paper and place the paper in a sealed
envelope. Write "SLQ STORY JAN 2011" followed by the Title(s) of your
Short Story(ies) on the back of the envelope. Make cheques or Postal Orders (in GB£ only) payable to
SENTINEL POETRY MOVEMENT. Send your Short Stories, the envelope with your name inside,
and your entry fee to: Sentinel Poetry Movement Unit 136 113 – 115 George Lane London E18 1AB United Kingdom ONLINE ENTRIES* International/Online entrants may enter by e-mail and pay
entry fees by Paypal. To enter by this method please follow
these steps: 1. Select the option that matches your entry preference from
the paypal drop-down button below and make the applicable
payment. 2. After making your payment, you will be given a
Transaction ID or Receipt Number by Paypal. Make a note of
the Transaction ID. 3. Submit your short stories and a cover note with your
Name, Postal Address, Subscriber ID, Optional
Telephone Number and Titles of your stories to [email protected] as a Word or rtf attachment. In the
subject line, type SLQ STORY JAN 2011 Followed by your
Transaction ID. 4. You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt of stories
within 48 hours. Terms & Conditions/Privacy Policy: You may enter as many short stories as
you wish with the appropriate entry fees. If you win one of the prizes in this
quarter’s competition, you will NOT be prohibited from entering next
quarter’s competition. The judges read the stories without
any indication of the identity of the authors. If the same author
wins more than one prize, in the interest of fairness we WILL award
it. The decision of the judge is final,
and no communication will be entered into. If on the advice of the judge, the
quality of entries is too low to produce worthy prize winners, or
any other legitimate reason beyond our control arises which may
affect a fair completion or conduct of the competition, we reserve
the right to cancel the competition and refund all entry fees
immediately by the same method we have been paid. If you would like an acknowledgement
of postal entries, please enclose an SAE marked "acknowledgement". The Judge’s Report will be published
in Sentinel Literary Quarterly on 31 January 2011. This publication
is online, www.sentinelquarterly.com if you would like to receive the
Judges’ Report in the post, please enclose an SAE marked "Judges’
Report". All prize winners will be notified by
post or e-mail within 7 days of the announcement of the results.
These notifications will be accompanied with a prize claim invoice. By entering this competition you
provide some information such as your address and e-mail which may
be deemed personal information. These will be processed according to
the data protection act 1998. We will never pass on any detail you
provide in the course of entering this competition to a third party
and we will never sell your data to anyone for marketing purposes. By entering this competition you agree

the results of the competition, the adjudicator’s reports and

Champions Facebook (Sentinel Literary Quarterly) | Amanda Sington-Williams writes short stories and novels.
She also teaches novel writing in Brighton. Her short stories have been
published in magazines and anthologies and she has recently signed a
contract with Ether Books who will be publishing six of her short
stories at the end of November 2011. She is the Resident Fiction Editor,
Sentinel Annual Literary Anthology (#1 due out on December 1st 2010.)
Her first novel, The Eloquence of Desire , was published in June 2010 by
Sparkling Books. She won an award for this novel from The Royal Literary
Fund. Amanda has an MA in Creative Writing and Authorship from Sussex
