THE PILGRIMS
Welcome to the holy land, Old feeble flesh, Blood parches on your wrinkled face, Oblivion of thy thunderous charm With which you snuff some breathing nerves , Upon Jacob’s well ,splashing the cold Water in your mystique hearts, Welcome to Siloam’s pool, Young men of milky manhood, My sister in a white gown – Of naked breast and naked limbs, Dipping your peeled purity In the purest water of the living pool. Welcome to mount Zion, You cows of Basham- Mother of the sinful world. You ate the apple-pine Of the forbidden tree, So are you not the cause of the echoing doom/? You are all welcome to the holy land. With your strength white- wash Your blood stained sole- Your stinking feet. In my sanctuary wash, In the basket of water In my holy name. But await Parosia, When I shall come Like a thief to announce The end of the toiling feet. Your tragic flaw.
