JENEEN REYNOLDS

The Same Game

Early to rise, a press of the button
Open my eyes, past days are forgotten
Rushing around, quickly sipping my tea
Ready for work, but not properly
Sit in the car, a daydream comes by
The same as before, I don't really know why
Everything is the same, from one day to the next
The trees and the roads, the same as the rest
The Job and the wages, the days and nights
The sky and the ground, the same old sights
A ritual we continue, playing the same game
Every day we do the same thing, again and again
The normality in our life, the things we do the most
>From bread and butter, to marmalade and toast
Though we do the same things day in and day out
Life is what you make of it, with that there's no doubt
