Journeying through thick and thin
The sole's of our feet
Brushed by shrubs
pierced by thorns of deep forests
 
We have come a long way
Passing through forest fires
The layers of our skins
Tatoos
Patterned with blisters and scars
 
We have come a long way
Face to face with ferrocious beasts
The lens of our eyes
Witnessing crawling, climbing and swimming
Forest expressions of dark species
 
We have come a long way
Overcoming our enemies
The weapons of our hands
Like charging buffalos, opening a path
Like ferrocious rhinocerous, stamping out fires
Slaughtering flesh, sipping blood
 
We have come a long way
We now see the end
A beam of sun, alas!
Tickling from fresh air
Inspiring us to humour
Our troubled past now dim
