Sentinel Expression Warehouse July 2004

UGBEDE UKWUBILE

Do you dare
Can you dare
To pigeon hole me
With the rest of common clay?

I am
Neither high churchman nor low
Nor blazing blaze or fading glow
I sing my songs for all to hear
My roses, maidens are what I hold dear
Can you pigeon hole me then and say
You lie; you’re this or that today?
I ‘m neither black nor white
Hold for the world neither love nor spite
But listen to me and you will see
That you cannot dare to pigeon hole me

I am an artist
Muse of the woods, mirror of the depths
And you cannot my allegiance preempt
I am like verdant hills, forever in their prime
And my aura of Truth is for all the Times

Do you dare
Can you dare
To pigeon hole me
With the rest of common clay?
